Interview with Natalie Damschroder author of Goddesses Rising

1.Please, tell us your name, the city you are born and the books you write.

My name is Natalie J. Damschroder, I was born in South Ruislip, England, but came to the U.S. when I was 1 year old and lived in Massachusetts until I was 16. Now I live in Pennsylvania. I write romantic adventure and paranormal romance.

2. How did you become a writer?

My mom was a writer, and my teachers always told me I had a talent for writing. But I didn't like to do it until I decided to try writing a romance. And I never looked back! :)

3. Who inspired you to write?

Every author who ever got me lost in a book.

4. How old were you when you wrote the first book?

The first real book I ever wrote, I was 22 or 23 when I started and 25 when I finished. :)

5. Your favorite books?

I love so many different books I can't list any favorites. MJ Fredrick, Megan Hart, Misty Simon, Lisa Mondello, Cathy McDavid, and Tracy Madison are all favorites.

6. What inspired you to write Goddesses Rising?

I love writing paranormal romance because of the freedom it gives me, not having to stick to "real life." But I'm not a fan of vampires and shapeshifters, so I needed something new. Goddesses appealed to me right away!

7. A message for your fans?

Thanks so much to everyone who reads my books! I am especially thankful for those who take the time to review, whether or not the book appealed to you.

Thank you so much, Andreea, for the interview!

Interview with Angela Carling author of Becoming Bryn

1.Please, tell us your name, the city you are born and the books you write.

My name is Angela Carling and I’m the author of three Young Adult novels, Unbreakable Love, Shackled, and my latest, Becoming Bryn. I was born in Los Angeles California but raised in a resort town called Palm Springs where all the Hollywood movie stars hung out on the weekends. It was a really unique place to grow up.

2. How did you become a writer?

It’s kind of a cool story. One of my sons was really struggling in school and he told me that “I’d never done anything hard like he was doing.” Oh yeah, like childbirth was easy!

So, instead of correcting him I realized that by the time he was born I was done with college so he’d never seen me struggle in school like he was. I’d always want to write a book from beginning to end so I promised him if he would do his best in school I would write a book and try to get it published. Seven months later, my first book, Unbreakable Love was complete!

My son also survived that year in school and is now in High School!

3. Who inspired you to write?

Other than my son Kyler, I have several authors including Madeline Le Engle that inspired me to want to create amazing stories.
4. How old were you when you wrote the first book?

I tried writing my first book in college but gave up when I couldn’t think of a good ending. Then I got married and had kids and barely read let alone wrote anything for about fifteen years. Finally, in 2011(after promising I would) I wrote every night for about an hour and finished Unbreakable Love. Sometimes timing is everything in life

5. Your favorite books?

No fair! That’s like asking which of my three kids is my favorite. I love most YA, especially contemporary! I loved The Hunger Games and recently Ally Condie’s Matched trilogy, but my favorite book is a little obscure book by Meg Cabot called Victoria and the Rogue.

6. What inspired you to write  Becoming Bryn ?

I think sisters have a really unique bond and I was thinking about how much worse it is to be betrayed by your sister…even more than your BFF. Also, one of my favorite movies is It’s a Wonderful Life because the main character gets to see what his friends and family would be like if he was never born. Between those two concepts..Becoming Bryn became a story of love, family and the ultimate sibling betrayal!

7.A message for your fans?

The biggest message, I APPRECIATE YOU!!! Putting my stories out there to be read is scary sometimes, but when you (one of my fans) read one of my books and love it, it inspires me to keep writing, so thanks for your support! I <3 you all!

Intervie with Diana Nixon autor of Love Lines

1.Please, tell us something about you and your life?
So I was born in Minsk, Belarus, when I currently live. I have a Master of Law degree and speak several foreign languages, including English. Like any other author I like big cups of coffee in the morning, and I can’t stop writing even in my dreams:) I’m a huge fan of Italian cuisine, French croissants and British Fish & Chips. I like travelling, reading and listening to music. I hate ‘lazy’ days, and I can’t imagine my life without my books:)
2.How did you become a write?
My writing career started two years ago, with my debut fantasy novel, named Love Lines. From the very beginning I knew that the series would consist of 5 books. At the moment it has three novels and one short story, and I’m planning to publish at least two more books to finish the series. Now I’m working on a contemporary romance, named Hate at First Sight. The book is coming out this fall, though the exact date for its publication is not set yet.
3.Who inspired you to write?
My family:) They always give me new ideas for my books. I can’t say that I write about my life, but yes, there are some things taken from my own experience. Now I also have a lot of readers whose reviews and feedbacks always inspire me to create something new:)
4.How old were you when you wrote the first book?
I don’t remember:) About 12 or 14 years old. It was a story based on one of the movies I liked a lot. A love story of course:) Many years passed and I forgot about that book, but one day when I was thinking about my writing, I remembered about the pink notebook where that story was written. Unfortunately I couldn’t find it anywhere:)
5.Your favorite books?
Fantasy and contemporary romances. I read everything, from Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, to Angels and Demons by Dan Brown.
6.Future projects?
A few months ago I started working on a book of poems together with the Indian author Abhishek Leela Pandey, and now I think I’m ready to write my own book of poetry. I will publish it when I have at least 50 poems:) There’s one more book I need to finish writing. It’s the first book of my fantasy trilogy, named The Heavens. And of course I need to gather ideals for the rest of the Love Lines series:)
7.A message for your fans?
I will never stop saying thanks for everything you guys are doing for me. It’s my pleasure to write books for you, and the more great reviews I receive, the more I want to write:) So thank you for following my writing, and I hope you will enjoy reading my new books. And thank you, Andreea for this wonderful interview!

Interview with Tiffany Daune author of Surface

1.Please, tell us your name, the city you are born and the books you write.

My name is Tiffany Daune. I was born in Canada, and I am the author of the Surface series.

2. How did you become a writer?

I wrote a lot when I was in elementary & high school, and I never stopped!

3. Who inspired you to write?

My grandmother, she was an amazing story teller. She was also the one who brought books into my life.

4. How old were you when you wrote the first book?

I was thirty-nine when Surface was published and I shall remain thirty-nine forever more. LOL.

5. Your favorite books?

Right now I'm fangirling over Tahereh Mafi and Kendare Blake's writing, but I also love anything written by Alyson Noel and JK Rowling.

6. What inspired you to write Surface?

I've always loved mermaids even the singing ones. But with Surface I wanted to explore the darker side of the mermaids I grew up with, and at the same time introduce a crossover of other water beings. I then meshed them together and placed them into our world. I love when fantasy blends with reality. Surface is a meld of all my years of watching Disney movies and thrillers. LOL.

7. A message for your fans?

Always dream big, believe in those dreams, and when they come true, seek to inspire others so they may spark the light within themselves.

Interview with Isabella Modra author of Rouge

1.Please, tell us your name, the city you are born and the books you write.

My name is Isabella Modra, I was born in Adelaide in South Australia and I write about anything that sparks my interest – usually depending on what TV show I am watching. Right now, I loooove stories about the underdog hero, and that’s why I decided to start a book series about a normal girl who develops supernatural abilities.

2. How did you become a writer?

That’s a funny story. When I was thirteen, my best friend and I were very into reading Nancy Drew stories. One morning on the way to school, we passed by a river that ran under a main road and spotted what we thought was a ‘body’ in this river. Of course, it was only a pipe or a piece of rubbish something, but we were so fascinated by how a supposedly real body ended up in this public river that we started thinking of a story behind it. It turned into an obsession, and I wrote the first 60 page book after days of discussing ideas for this mystery we embarked on together. From there, I spent two years developing 8 books in this mystery series, and since then I haven’t stopped writing.

3. Who inspired you to write?

Honestly I don’t really have any inspirations (except JK Rowling, but I wasn’t obsessed with her at the age of 13, just her books). I guess it was always the stories that inspired me to write. I wanted to create my own world, a world I could use to escape my mediocre life and pretend I was someone else. That’s what was so good about writing the mystery series I did as a teenager; they were essentially adventure stories about me and my best friend.

4. How old were you when you wrote the first book?

When I began Rouge, I had just turned seventeen. It was the beginning of my senior year and I was looking for a story to write. My friend and I thought of it on the school bus. Funny how all my ideas come to life on the school bus…

5. Your favorite books?

That’s tough. Honestly I don’t read as much as I should because I am very picky about books I read. If I can’t force myself through the first chapter, I give up on it. So my favorite books are, of course, the Harry Potter series, because they were my childhood and hold a special place in my heart. I liked the Hunger Games and the Infernal Devices series. I also love to read Peter Pan if I can’t get to sleep at night and my mind is in overdrive. It’s such a simple, beautiful story and always makes me laugh.

6. What inspired you to write Rouge?

As I said, I was obsessed with superheroes. I wanted to create a character that wasn’t invincible like Superman, but had a certain strength about her that only heroes do. The protagonist Hunter is a bit of a loner, but in desperate need of love. She is tough and goes through many hardships (in this book and the coming ones), but she puts other first. And she’s a badass heroine, which is important in female characters in my opinion. I just wanted a story that gave hope to people and wasn’t full of fake characters and plotlines, but had real, gritty people who weren’t afraid to fight for good.

7.A message for your fans?

Fans? I’m sorry, I’m not familiar with this term…
No, really, I don’t think I have many fans at the moment, but for those who claim to be my fans, my message is a simple THANK YOU for buying and reading and reviewing my book. Really, I don’t care what happens to me future-wise, I’m just so grateful to be able to share a story I love with people who appreciate books for the wonderful things that they are.

Enjoy!

Interview with Jennifer Edlund author of Forever Blue

1.Please, tell us your name, the city you are born.
My name is Jennifer Edlund. I was born in Northern California in the city of Roseville. I am a Scorpio-- spiritual, and very in touch with the universe and my astrological sign. My elemental sign is water, so the ocean holds my heart and is my favorite place to relax and commune. In the near future, I plan on making my home somewhere in Hawaii.
2.How old were you when you wrote the first book?

I wrote my first children's picture book when I was seven-years-old and it won second place at the Orange County Fair. I grew up being a voracious reader, so it was a natural step to turn my interest to writing. When I was 13, my dear grandfather handed me a brand new plaid covered journal and said, “Write your heart out.” Little did he know how that simple gesture would change my life. From there on, writing was in my blood, an addiction that fueled my passion for the craft. I started writing seriously when I was 17. In 1999, during the summer of my junior year, I discovered my desperate love for writing when I began attempting fan-fiction. At that point, I was hooked, but had not yet thought of it as a career.I write because I must, just like you must breathe, must eat, and must live. For me writing is release, it's pure, unadulterated joy.
                                                       3.Your favorite books?

I adore paperback books, audio books, Chris Isaak, Hugh Jackman, The Backstreet Boys, cooking, Castle, The Food Network (especially Chopped) Maui, and Karaoke, cooking great meals, and good food.
                                                              4. Who inspired you to write?

In 2004, I met best-selling author, Nicholas Sparks—and that was the pivotal moment when I was inspired to write my own novel someday.

I published my first novel, Forever Blue, in 2011 with Amazon, which was followed by the sequel, Forever Blue: New Tears to Cry, Old Songs to Sing, in 2012.

My blog: Edlund101-I Teach Women How Men Think was named one of the top 50 influential blogs of 2010. My third novel, The Experiment, set to be released in March 2013, will incorporate many of my relationship articles.

                                                                 5.Future projects?
I am hard at work finishing up my fourth novel.

Interview with Christina Michaels author of Epiphany

1.Please, tell us your name, the city you are born and the books you write.

My name is Christina Jean Michaels. I was born in Paradise, California but I've lived in Oregon for almost 20 years now. I'm the author of Epiphany, a new adult/romantic suspense novel.

2. How did you become a writer?

Well, I became an obsessive reader when I was 13, and about a year later I wanted to try writing about my own characters. Over the years, I've dabbled in short-stories and even fan fiction, but I found a real passion for writing when I participated in National Novel Writing Month in 2008. That was the year I began Epiphany. I proved to myself that I could actually do it by finishing 50,000 words in a month. I took a couple of years off to have my daughter, and in 2011 I found an online critique site where Epiphany got a complete overhaul.
 3. Who inspired you to write?

I don't think it's any one person or thing that inspires me. I've always been a daydreamer, so creating characters and worlds is just something I can't help but do.
4. How old were you when you wrote the first book?

I wrote my first sentence of fiction when I was 14.

5. Your favorite books?

For years, I've been a huge fan of Sandra Brown. I've also enjoyed a few books by Nora Roberts. Since discovering the Indies (yay for us!), I've really grown fond of new adult. I loved On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves, Easy by Tammara Webber, and UnBreak Me By Lexi Ryan.

6. What inspired you to write Epiphany?

It's a long story that only makes sense to me, lol. So to make a long story short, I was looking at cows one day when I had an idea (this idea has very little to do with Epiphany, by the way). So in a nutshell, cows inspired Epiphany.

7. Do you have a playlist for your book?

I do! I can't not listen to music when writing.

8. Future projects?

I'm juggling two pen names, so right now I've got two projects going. One is dark erotica, and the other is Awakening, book two in the Legacy of Payne series. I've also got a vague idea about mermaids, inspired last year when I saw the documentary on Animal Planet--Mermaids: The Body Found. It was creepy, and it got my head spinning ideas!

9. A message to the future writers?

I work-shopped Epiphany online, and it was the best thing I ever did. I met a lot of awesome writers, but more importantly, I learned a lot from them. So that's my first piece of advice--find people you trust to give it to you like it is. Grow a thick skin, because you're going to need it.

My second piece of advice comes from something I've heard about more recently. There's been a couple of horror stories from some of these writers who went with unknown small publishers and are now regretting it. It's made me so thankful that I made the decision to self-publish. No matter which way you go, research, research, research. Don't sign a contract with a publisher without fully knowing what you're getting into. Even better, have an intellectual property attorney go over it, if you can. And if you do decide to self-publish, put your best effort out there. Book covers, editing, and formatting are just as important as writing a great story. They do matter.

10. A message for your fans?

I'm in awe at your enthusiasm for Epiphany! I've read so many fantastic reviews, and each one makes my day. Sending a huge thank-you to the readers for giving this unknown author a chance! Also, I'd like to send my thanks to all of the book bloggers who've read and shared Epiphany.

Enjoy!

Interview with Jessica O'Gorek author Ethereal Fury (Gemini Rising #1)+Giveaway

1.Please,tell us your name, the city you are born and the books you write.
My name is Jessica O'Gorek and I was born in Chesapeake, VA. I write in the adult, young adult, erotica and horror genres.
2. How did you become a writer?
I was an angry teenager and my pen helped me put my feelings in to words. Even if I couldn't say them I could always write them. I started writing dark and depressing poetry when I was around ten.
3. Who inspired you to write?
My father inspired me as a writer. I grew up listening to him clack away at the typewriter and I can remember just idolizing him to no end. He wrote and published and also taught Spanish, English and lit. I guess I was a daddy’s girl and I just wanted him to be proud of me all the time. He passed of cancer in Oct. 2012 and one of the last things I told him was that I was going to be famous one day. He looked at me, through the morphine and his dehydrated haze and said, with clarity in his eyes, “Honey, I don’t doubt it one bit.” That was one of the sweetest things he’s ever said to me. Whenever I get discouraged I think back on that moment.
4. How old were you when you wrote the first book?
I started writing at the age of 12. I would lock myself in my room as a teenager and come out with 2000 page romance novels that were too painful for my dad to proofread. I decided I wanted to publish after I wrote Gemini Rising Book I and realized it was good enough to submit a manuscript or two. My publisher actually found me and saved me the frustration of getting all those nightmarish rejection letters I’ve heard of.
5. Your favorite books?
Twilight series, Hunger Games and any Stephen King novels.
6. What inspired you to write Gemini Rising?

My inspiration was Twilight and the Host but I also wanted to create something that would speak to the younger generation in a healthy way. I wanted to have romance but or the kind that takes over your soul and makes you feel like you’re nothing without each other. Violette and Onyx are crazily attracted to each other but they don’t reek of co-dependency like Edward and Bella. It was just after New Moon had been released and I started thinking about how could supersede vampires and werewolves and come up with an entirely different creature that was faster, stronger, sexier and who’s existence more meaningful.
7. Do you have a playlist for your book?
All of the Twilight soundtracks.
8. Future projects?
I am working on the fourth book in the Gemini Rising Series right now. I plan to finish this series and get the rest of it published. I want a film maker to take notice and make a movie of it! That would be my ultimate dream come true! If I could hand pick the cast, a computer-generated Robert Pattinson could be Onyx and Kristen Stewart could be Violette- her sexiness and age would have to be played down though, (If that’s even possible!)
9.A message to the future writers?
It sounds so cliche, but I'll say it anyway. Do not give up on your dreams! If you want them bad enough you will eventually find them and always remember that dreams change.
10.A message for your fans?
I love and value each and every one of you! Your feedback, your criticism, your praise, it all means the worlds to me! What is an author without fans of their work? An artist without a brush, a dog without a bone, a... well, you get the idea.
